The numbers describe an unusually lopsided result without suggesting that Sall City monopolised the match. Petcher Villa edged possession, corners, dribbles and tackles, but had only two attempts; Sall City put 13 of 17 shots on target and converted seven. The difference was not a territorial siege so much as a striking gap in the volume and consequence of the teams’ attempts. Matsumoto’s four goals gave the scoreline its most conspicuous shape, and Sall City added three more through Sanchez, Wright and Mota. For Petcher Villa, the possession figures offer little comfort against a 7-0 defeat. They do, at least, confirm that the ball was present.
