For Poley United, the match offered an early lead, a second goal just after the interval and then the less comfortable business of defending a comeback. Cling United’s two goals in the space between the 53rd and 69th minutes turned a difficult position into a share of the points, with Kasim Petrović and Patrick Emmanuel supplying the finish to their side’s reply. The sides split the goals and the result, though not the shot count: Cling had the busier attack, Poley the more economical one, and neither quite managed to make its preferred version of the afternoon stick.
