For Waleatford Park, the opening half-hour offered both a two-goal cushion and the sort of attacking return that suggested the plan was working. The two yellow cards before the interval marked a less comfortable side of the contest, but the decisive change came after the restart: Gritotton Town found the net three times, with Boon completing the turnaround four minutes after Kawasaki had levelled. The hosts’ greater share of the ball and cleaner passing were not enough to stop that sequence. Gritotton Town leaves with the 3-2 victory; Waleatford Park is left to consider how quickly a match can revise its own opening argument.
