Walton 3 - 4 Towlar Stanley

Walton lost 3 - 4 to Towlar Stanley in Division 8 League 69 after a match that managed to fit three visitors’ goals into the final stretch of the first half and still leave room for a late home reply. Towlar Stanley took all three points; Walton had more shots, more corners and the slightly higher xG, which is a tidy collection of evidence for a less tidy result.

The first-half sequence changed the shape of the match quickly: after Khadim Diakhate put Walton ahead, Towlar Stanley scored three times between the 30th and 43rd minutes. Ivan Cvetković was involved in all three, scoring once and assisting Marcel Durand and Julio Cortes. Walton answered after the break through Friedrich Unger and, later, Rainer Müller, but Ivan Cvetković scored again between those replies. The hosts’ 83rd-minute goal made the finish less comfortable for the visitors; it did not erase the advantage built during that decisive first-half run. Four yellow cards, split evenly, added some housekeeping to an evening already busy with goals.
