The scoreline was settled early enough to make the second half a test of whether Midge Villa would ease off; instead, they added three more goals, with Kevin Stevenson completing his hat-trick and Phillip Lewis scoring again late on. Plytoning Wanderers had more possession, corners and dribbles, but none brought a shot. Eight goals against 0.01 xG is an extraordinary return, and the match’s bluntest conclusion is also its clearest: possession was present, but the finishing opportunities belonged almost entirely to Midge Villa.
