The report
The scoreline was emphatic, and the chance numbers say it was no statistical accident. Chent United produced 19 shots, 16 on target and 4.34 xG, converting five goals: a modest over-performance of 0.66 against the Gazzetta chance-quality estimate. Wateld Park managed seven shots, six on target and 1.63 xG, but scored once, finishing 0.63 below expectation. The visitors’ 55 per cent possession and better pass accuracy did not translate into a comparable volume of danger. Chent United were more direct in their return from attacks, and their 15 tackles to Wateld Park’s eight suggest they also worked hard to keep the visitors from turning possession into control.
The late first-half double gave Chent United a commanding platform: Shoji Inoue scored in the 44th minute, and Robert Maisuradze added another in the 45th. Luca Colombo pulled one back for Wateld Park after the break, briefly giving the visitors a foothold, but Maisuradze restored the three-goal margin five minutes later. Colombo then scored for Chent United in the 88th minute, completing the 5-1 result. The two players named Luca Colombo in the ledger had distinctly different afternoons for their respective clubs; football’s administrative paperwork has, at least, kept pace.

No Wateld Park players recorded a rating of 7.0 or higher.
The difference was not possession but the damage made with it. Wateld Park had enough of the ball and put six of seven attempts on target, yet Chent United generated far more shots and converted their pressure into five goals. The hosts’ two goals in the final stretch of the first half set the tone; after the visitors briefly reduced the deficit, the quick response at 65 minutes kept the match firmly in Chent United’s hands. It finished 5-1, a clear win built on volume, timely finishing and a scoreline that left little room for ambiguity.
