Sawelem Villa 6 - 0 Wilton Stanley

The opening goal arrived in the 27th minute, when Ian Foster finished a move set up by Pascal Soro. Pascal Soro added a second just before half-time, assisted by Luke Hunter, and Sawelem Villa kept adding to the margin after the interval. Jose Velazquez, Luke Hunter, Victor Rios and Jeroen Ho all scored, with assists from Ian Foster and Pascal Soro helping turn the second half into a long afternoon for Wilton Stanley.

The figures give a clear sense of the imbalance, with one small complication: Wilton Stanley had 49% possession and matched Sawelem Villa’s five corners, but managed only one shot and none on target. The visitors also recorded more dribbles and tackles, though neither count troubled the final score. Sawelem Villa’s three yellow cards made for a slightly untidy side note to an otherwise emphatic performance.

For Sawelem Villa, the scoreline was the headline and the finishing was the explanation. Six goals from a game with almost even possession is a useful reminder that control can be measured in more than the amount of time spent with the ball. Wilton Stanley kept the possession and corner counts close, but the shot count tells the plainer story: the visitors never found a way to make that territory count.
