The early goals gave Fazelford United control of the scoreline, with Virgilio Alvarez opening the scoring before setting up Albeiro Aguirre in the 29th minute. Philippe Robert pulled one back for Roydnes nine minutes later, but the visitors’ volume of attempts remained the defining feature. Their three yellow cards arrived in a busy stretch around the goals, while the foul count ended level; the match’s imbalance was chiefly in the work done with the ball, not in the whistle.

Virgilio Alvarez added his second in the 86th minute, assisted by Nicholas Moore, to settle the 3-1 result. Roydnes did make 16 dribbles to the visitors’ three, a lively individual outlet that could not compensate for the disparity in shots. For Fazelford United, the victory was deserved on the chances created, even if the xG suggests there was room for a larger return. For Roydnes, the goal offered a brief foothold in a match where footholds were otherwise in short supply.
