The timing of the goals gave the afternoon its shape. Boon broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, and Pinto struck six minutes later, leaving Dawlytont with a two-goal deficit at the interval and little room for a patient reset. Stere then added two more after the break, with Pinto scoring again in the 71st minute before Boon completed his brace in the 83rd. The four-goal margin was not a perfect reflection of the xG balance, but Stere’s finishing and their ability to keep putting shots on target made it a thoroughly earned one. Dawlytont tackled more often and had chances of their own; Stere supplied the part that decides football matches, which is the goals.
