For Morton City, the figures show an unusually efficient afternoon built on direct returns rather than control of possession: 19 attempts, 15 on target and eight goals. Utton Rovers completed more passes accurately and carried more of the ball, but created too little from that advantage to make the contest close. An 8-0 result is not merely a win with a generous margin; it is a reminder that the ball can spend a long time in one team’s possession without visiting the places that matter.
