Whiton Athletic did find the net first and again in the 83rd minute, but those goals sat between a run of six Calee Mary United strikes that left the hosts with too much ground to recover. The visitors’ scoring was spread across four players, with Thomas Taylor completing his hat-trick and Agostino Tarantino combining two goals with two assists. The 90th-minute finish from Ulisses Cordeiro, set up by Tarantino, closed the scoring at 2 - 7.

There is a small statistical oddity in the possession figures: Whiton held the larger share and recorded higher pass accuracy, yet the visitors made their time on the ball count with far more shots and tackles. Calee Mary United’s seven goals exceeded its xG by a sizeable margin, so this was not simply a case of the estimate anticipating every finish. Still, 17 shots on target provided ample evidence of attacking pressure. Whiton’s two goals offered some return from just three attempts, but the final score reflected how thoroughly Calee Mary United controlled the most consequential part of the match: the chances that ended with the ball in the net.
