Mington Stanley 0 - 5 Selinfield

Mington Stanley lost 0 - 5 to Selinfield, whose five goals turned a match with nearly even possession into a decidedly uneven afternoon. Mington Stanley had 52% of the ball and nine corners, but recorded no shots; possession, it turns out, does not come with a compulsory shooting clause.

Mington Stanley had no standout performers rated 7.0 or higher.

Jay Robinson (7.3) - Scored once and assisted once, contributing directly to two of Selinfield’s five goals. Luis Cabello (7.0) - Opened the scoring, assisted Jay Robinson and was booked. Maurice Hancock (7.0) - Supplied the assists for Samuel Rojas and Agustin Juarez.

The five-goal margin was built across the match rather than left to a late flurry: Selinfield led 3 - 0 by half-time, added a fourth in the 64th minute and completed the scoring in the 86th. Both sides were shown two yellow cards, and neither received a red. For Mington Stanley, the possession and corner counts are real features of the afternoon, but the zero beside shots explains why they offered no route back into the contest. Selinfield had less of the ball, more than enough attempts, and the five-goal result to show for it.
