The scoreline was emphatic, but the match was not simply a case of Marland United dominating every measure. Magellsompton had more possession, more corners, more dribbles and better pass accuracy; those advantages did not produce a comparable attacking return. The hosts’ 15 shots on target, against two for the visitors, offer the clearest account of the difference between the sides. Four yellow cards for Marland United and three for Magellsompton also made this a busy afternoon for the referee, though neither side saw a player sent off.
