For Mindeston Rangers, the two goals in four minutes showed how effectively the hosts used their first-half opportunity to seize control. But Gret Yarken Park kept enough of the ball, found more routes through individual dribbling, and continued to produce shots on target; the equaliser was not a sudden arrival from nowhere. The match ended 2 - 2, a fair reflection of the near-even xG and a less soothing verdict for Mindeston than its two-goal lead once promised. Both sides had a point to take, and Mindeston had the particular reminder that a lead is not a closing strategy.
