No Venter City player reached a rating of 7.0 or higher.

The match never settled into a quiet contest: all four first-half goals arrived by the 33rd minute, and the score was level again after Mathieu Da Costa replied for Venter City. Baik’s 52nd-minute goal proved the hinge. Folne then added two more, with Turmanidze and Bruno Rossi supplying the finish to a game in which the visitors’ attacking volume did not bring the same reward.

Folne also held more possession and completed more dribbles, while Venter City made more tackles and took more shots. The hosts’ four yellow cards were a conspicuous tax on the win, but no red cards followed. Venter City had enough opportunity to make the evening uncomfortable; Folne’s finishing made sure the final 5-2 was not. The score records a clear victory, even if the xG ledger would have preferred a more complicated verdict.
