Yeobury Town 1 - 6 Romwor Marl Wes

The chance-quality estimate puts Yeobury Town at 0.36 xG against one goal, a modest over-performance from a single shot on target. Romwor Marl Wes produced 2.85 xG and scored six, also well above the estimate: the visitors turned their opportunities into goals at a remarkable rate. Their 13 shots, 10 on target and five goals by the 33rd minute point to a ruthless first-half finish, while the possession figures offer a useful reminder that having the ball and making it count are separate departments.

Yeobury Town did find a response after the break, with Ivan Milošević scoring from Quan Tan’s assist at 50 minutes. It did not alter the scale of the task. Facundo Rios added his second at 75 minutes, assisted by Bruno Rossi, to complete the scoring; Rossi had already assisted three goals and received the visitors’ only yellow card. Yeobury Town’s eight corners and 56 per cent possession brought no further goal, while Romwor Marl Wes made six from 13 attempts. A 1-6 result is emphatic by any ordinary measure, and the numbers leave little room for a more delicate description.
