Throughout the game, Walth City created numerous chances, reflected in their impressive 2.91 xG, nearly double Eridge's 1.57. However, the hosts' defensive resilience and the goalkeeper's six crucial saves kept the scoreline tight. Walth City's inability to convert their chances, despite their superior shot count (14 to 8) and on-target efforts (10 to 5), highlights their wastefulness in front of goal. Eridge's goal came from a well-placed shot that exceeded their expected goal value, indicating clinical finishing in a game where tactical discipline was key.
