Markeham beat Beckwaft Rovers 4-2 in Division 8 League 80, turning a modest share of the ball into four goals and a result that the chance figures did not predict. The 4-2 scoreline leaves Markeham with a clear win, but not a match in which the underlying numbers simply followed the scoreboard. Beckwaft Rovers enjoyed 51 per cent possession, completed passes more accurately and had five more shots; the visitors also had the higher xG. Yet Markeham found the net four times, including Luca Colombo’s goal in the 90th minute, and turned the sharper finishing performance into a two-goal margin. Four yellow cards for the hosts gave the evening an additional layer of administrative enthusiasm, though the decisive arithmetic remained goals.
