Despite a fairly even possession split—51% to Mawestlay’s 49%—the visitors’ inability to register a shot on target was telling. Mawestlay’s xG of 4.64 far exceeded the actual goals scored, indicating a degree of clinical finishing that outstripped the quality of chances created. Ambles United’s defensive lapses and disciplinary issues, with three yellow cards, compounded their problems. Mawestlay’s control in midfield and disciplined pressing kept the visitors on the back foot, while their attacking players capitalized on the opportunities presented, especially in the second half when the game opened up further.

The match was a display of Mawestlay’s attacking versatility and tactical discipline. The home side’s ability to convert chances—particularly the contribution of Jose Trujillo, who scored once and assisted another—highlighted their offensive potency. Meanwhile, Ambles United’s inability to threaten at all, combined with their disciplinary issues, underlined their struggles. Mawestlay’s defensive resilience was also evident, with only three saves needed to preserve their clean sheet. The game’s outcome was a fair reflection of the balance of play, with Mawestlay’s superior finishing and tactical organization ultimately deciding the result.
