The early goals gave the match its shape without settling its direction. Luca Colombo put Milton City ahead in the eighth minute, but Easterth answered through Lindomar Da Silva two minutes later, assisted by Ousmane Sylla. After that brisk opening, the score stayed level until Norbert Fischer moved Easterth in front in the 69th minute. Weijie Hong restored parity for Milton City at 83', leaving neither side with enough late daylight to turn a balanced contest into a win. The 2-2 result was a fair reflection of the close chance-quality figures, even if the three yellow cards gave Easterth rather more paperwork than its hosts.
