The match was largely decided in the first half, as Soham City scored twice before the break, with goals at 27' and 36'. The visitors then received a yellow card at 38', but that did little to slow their momentum. After the interval, Soham continued their assault, adding three more goals at 47', 65', and 71'. Blymer's only notable moment was a yellow card at 45', but their defensive frailty was laid bare by Soham's relentless attack. Despite a possession advantage of 54%, Blymer's offensive ineffectiveness was glaring, with only one shot and an xG of just 0.26, a stark contrast to Soham's 4.09. The visitors' 15 shots on target, coupled with their disciplined pressing and passing accuracy, ultimately sealed the game.

While the match was a one-sided affair, it also highlighted the importance of finishing and tactical execution. Soham City’s ability to convert chances underlined their clinical approach, while Blymer's inability to capitalize on their possession and limited opportunities suggests areas for improvement. The game served as a reminder that possession alone does not win matches, especially when the opposition’s finishing is so precise. As the league progresses, Soham will hope to maintain their ruthless streak, while Blymer must find ways to translate their control into goals.
