Bexton United 6 - 0 Bedon Town

The xG figures put Bexton United at 4.99 and Bedon Town at 0.71. Six goals from 4.99 xG is an over-performance of 1.01, a mark of sharp finishing on top of a steady supply of chances; 24 shots, including 17 on target, give that finishing plenty of context. Bedon Town finished without a goal despite 0.71 xG, with only two of its four attempts on target. The possession split was 51%-49%, but the shot count tells the more useful tactical story: Bexton United repeatedly turned possession into attempts, while Bedon Town could not build a comparable threat. Seven corners for Bedon Town to five for Bexton United were an unusual footnote to that imbalance.

The early goals from Wolfgang Franke and Maxime Rey put Bexton United in control by the 12th minute, and Luca Colombo added another on the stroke of half-time. Goals from Patrick van Wijk and Maxime Rey followed in quick succession after the break, before Israel Morales completed the scoring at 80 minutes. Rey finished with two goals, while van Wijk contributed a goal and two assists. With three yellow cards apiece and no dismissals, the match kept its full complement of players; the scoreline, meanwhile, had long since stopped pretending to be a close contest.
