Prenton City pulled one back in the 90th minute, but the late goal could not undo the damage done after the break. Tonfiellin’s five yellow cards and 12 fouls mark a costly disciplinary burden in a match it nevertheless won; Prenton City had one yellow and five fouls. The contrast is plain enough: the hosts controlled more of the ball and created more attempts, while Tonfiellin turned its four shots into three goals. On this occasion, the arithmetic favoured the side that needed fewer chances.
