Foundation building - Laying the groundwork for future success

Citon's 11th season in the eighth division was a year of steady progress and foundational development. Finishing in 4th place with 31 points, the team demonstrated resilience and a commitment to building a cohesive squad. Despite a balanced record of 9 wins, 4 draws, and 9 losses, the season was marked by a collective effort rather than individual brilliance. Interestingly, this season was a season of football with its own unique story—highlighting the importance of teamwork and perseverance as Citon laid the groundwork for future success.

While the team’s goal tally of 27 was modest and their defensive record of 31 goals conceded reflected room for improvement, the season served as a vital stepping stone. The squad’s core players, including Paul Dupont, Jose Pereira, Nestor Izquierdo, Ivan Cvetković, and Mitsuo Arai, contributed across the board, embodying the spirit of collective effort. This season was less about spectacular results and more about establishing a solid foundation for growth.

• Secured a top-four league finish, showcasing competitive consistency
• Balanced record with an equal number of wins and losses
• Strong team spirit with multiple contributors across the squad
• Laid the groundwork for future tactical and squad improvements

While individual statistics are limited, the season’s true strength lay in collective effort. The top players—Paul Dupont, Jose Pereira, Nestor Izquierdo, Ivan Cvetković, and Mitsuo Arai—contributed in multiple ways, embodying the team’s ethos of versatility and unity. Their roles, though not reflected in goals or assists, were crucial in maintaining team cohesion and effort throughout the season.

Citon’s primary focus moving forward should be enhancing their defensive solidity and goal-scoring capabilities. Addressing defensive lapses and increasing offensive output will be vital in climbing higher in the league standings. Additionally, developing individual goal contributions could help turn draws into wins and losses into more favorable results.

Citon’s season was a solid foundation-laying effort, emphasizing teamwork and collective contribution. The squad showed resilience and consistency, setting the stage for future growth. To elevate their performance, improvements in defense and attack are necessary. With continued development and strategic reinforcement, Citon can aim for higher league positions in the seasons to come.
